This year’s Holmberg Institute kicked-off on September 10 with an

advocacy, diversity, and downtown development. The class also spent a
day in Nashville touring the Frist Center for the Visual Arts and
meeting with officials at the Tennessee Arts Commission and Tennesseans
for the Arts.
“The Holmberg Arts Leadership Institute has enhanced our community by
engaging talented and dynamic citizens to understand the role the arts
play to make Chattanooga a great place to live and work,” commented
Rodney Van Valkenburg, Director of Grants and Initiatives at ArtsBuild.
“This class has demonstrated excellent leadership skills that will
greatly benefit not only our arts community, but all of Hamilton
County.”
Launched in 2005, The Holmberg Arts Leadership Institute is offered
annually by ArtsBuild in memory of long-time board member and arts
advocate A. William Holmberg, Jr. A maximum of 30 people have the
opportunity to participate in the program each year. Criteria for
